This is Christian Turner, a member of the Texas State University Bobcat RISE’s inaugural cohort. Christian is a history buff and loves sporting events. In his first year, he successfully completed a 300-level history course and attended so many sports events that he won multiple prizes including the opportunity to throw out the first ball at a women’s softball game.

Here’s a message from Christian:

Hello, my name is Christian Turner. I am a student at Texas State University in the Bobcat RISE program. I have always wanted to attend college. I love the program because it helps kids with physical and mental disabilities. I get to experience being on my own, attending college, and meeting new people.

We get to choose a job based on our interests and they help us learn how to do it. Schoolwork can be challenging but we have lots of support and help. I love being a college student and getting to experience college life. When I graduate, I want to get a job that I like.
