Christian Roe’s journey at the University of Oklahoma has been marked by significant achievements and extensive involvement in the campus community. As a member of Beta Upsilon Chi fraternity, OU BoomSquad, and OU homecoming royalty, Christian’s active participation has made him a well-known and respected figure on campus. His participation in the prestigious OU Ring Ceremony, as the first student from Sooner Works to do so, symbolizes his achievements and the closing of his transformative college experience.
Academically, Christian has taken a diverse range of inclusive courses including Principles of Communication, Public Speaking, Intro to Health and Exercise Science, Introductory Nutrition, and Introduction to Management. These classes, alongside his internships with various athletics and fitness departments across campus, have provided him with a robust employment skills and experience working on many different teams. In addition to engaging in all that college life has to offer, Christian has developed a passion for activism. He has participated in numerous leadership opportunities, such as speaking at People with Disabilities Awareness Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol and serving as Peer Mentor to first-year students in the Sooner Works. His journey at OU has not only equipped him with essential career skills but also ignited his drive to advocate for change and inclusion.
Christian’s dedication and hard work have culminated in obtaining competitive, integrated employment doing exactly what he loves. He has accepted a full-time position as a middle school paraprofessional and assistant football coach, where he will continue to pursue his passion for sports and support students on their own educational journey. Christian has achieved his academic and career goals, but he has also found purpose in but he has also found purpose in empowering others, advocating for people with disabilities, and making a meaningful impact in his community.
